General Questions

All new products are reviewed by us before they are made available for purchase on the marketplace. When submitting a product, sellers are required to list all ingredients and materials in the ‘Product Description’ section. If sellers fail to provide this information we’ll reach out to them and make sure it’s there. If the ingredients / materials used simply do not meet our guidelines we refuse the product.

We’ll keep this one short and simple. According to Empathy Market, the term ‘Vegan’ implies that a product contains no animal products, derivatives or bi-products, has not been produced using a process which contains animal products, derivatives or bi-products and that it has not been tested on animals.

Presently all products on the marketplace are priced in USD$. However, as the marketplace grows we certainly aim to add support for multiple currencies.

Currently Empathy Market is only doing business in the US and Canada. We decided to limit it to these two countries for now because not all Sellers will be able to ship world wide. As the marketplace grows we certainly want to do business across the globe.

Seller Questions

As long as you are in the US or Canada, sure! Anyone is allowed to create a seller account. Sellers are free to submit as many products as they’d like, there are no listing fees. All products will be reviewed by us prior to going live on the marketplace, to ensure that they respect our guidelines.

1. Products sold on the marketplace must not contain any animal product, derivative, or by-product.
2. Products sold on the marketplace must not be produced using a process which involves any animal product, derivative, or by-product.
3. Products must not be tested on animals.

It is the responsibility of the seller to ship their product. The seller determines their own shipping costs. Currently we are only doing business in the US and Canada. This means you’ll be able to set national shipping rates for customers ordering from your country and international shipping rates, which will apply to the customers ordering from the country opposite of where you are based. For example, if you are in the US, you can set a ‘national shipping rate’ to 5$ for US customers, and an ‘international shipping rate’ of 10$ for customers ordering from Canada.

We take a commission of 5% on all orders. No commission is taken from the cost of shipping. Paypal then takes their standard payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. This is the most simple fee structure for the time being, but we aim to elaborate on our fee structure in the near future to be able to factor in a sliding commission based on sales volume.
